RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES -- WEAPONS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 
SECTION 1. Section 11-47-35.1 of the General Laws in Chapter 11-47 entitled "Weapons" 1 
is hereby amended to read as follows: 2 
11-47-35.1. Persons exempt from § 11-47-35. 3 
The provisions of § 11-47-35 shall not apply to full-time members of the state police, full-4 
time members of the Rhode Island capitol police, full-time law enforcement officers within the 5 
department of public safety, full-time members of the state marshal’s office, full-time members of 6 
city or town police departments, or state marshals or correctional officers or persons licensed under 7 
§ 11-47-11. 8 
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 9

RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES -- WEAPONS

This act would exempt from the requirement of § 11-47-35 regarding the sale of 1 
concealable weapons, the full-time members of the state police, full-time members of the capitol 2 
police, full-time law enforcement officers within the department of public safety, full-time 3 
members of city or town police departments, correctional officers, or persons licensed under § 11-4 
47-11. 5 
This act would take effect upon passage. 6
