2222 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2323 SECTION 1. Chapter 12-1 of the General Laws entitled "Identification and Apprehension 1
2424 of Criminals" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
2525 12-1-10.2. Firearm examination. 3
2626 In the case of every offense in which a firearm is seized, the arresting/investigating police 4
2727 department shall submit the firearm to the state crime laboratory for testing pursuant to ยง 12-1.2-3 5
2828 and also shall submit any information relative to said firearm, including, but not limited to, its 6
2929 make, model, serial number, and ballistics report from the state crime laboratory, to the federal 7
3030 bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms for tracing. 8
3131 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 9
