EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE P ASSING OF GAIL BREENE-
DELMONICO

WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Gail Breene-1
Delmonico, the wife of Frank Delmonico for the past twenty-seven years, and formerly the wife 2
of Kenneth Breene for thirty-seven years until his passing; and 3
WHEREAS, Mrs. Delmonico was the daughter of the late Leslie and Dorothy Marcotte 4
and the sister of Thomas Marcotte, William Marcotte, and the late Robert Marcotte. She was a 5
graduate of Coventry High School. During her school years, she would help her father at his 6
business Crystal Cleansers after school, and also made her family very proud as a dedicated 7
member of Rainbow for Girls, where she rose to the position of Worthy Advisor; and 8
WHEREAS, In 1955, Gail Marcotte married Kenneth Breene, fulfilling her life goal to 9
become “a loving and nurturing wife and mother.” While she worked for a period of time with 10
her husband’s business, Mishnock Lace, her primary love and focus always remained on her 11
husband, Kenny, and children, the Honorable Kevin Breene, former RI State Senator, and his 12
wife, Charlene Randall, Karen Zarlenga and her husband, John Zarlenga, and Gregory Breene 13
and his wife, Cottrell; and 14
WHEREAS, Mrs. Breene was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Allison Medeiros 15
and her husband, Robert, Melissa Jordan and her husband, Matthew, Rebecca Breene, Brian 16
Zarlenga and his wife, Chelsea, Steven Breene and his wife, Tara, Hillary Birtell and her 17
husband, Porter, Morgan Breene, and Lauren Bain and her husband, Zack Bain, and was the very 18
devoted great-grandmother of Jordan and Tyler Medeiros, Kenzie Jordan, Sawyer Jordan, Kaylie 19

Jordan, Jack Zarlenga and Remington Birtell; and 1
WHEREAS, Mrs. Breene took great pleasure in raising her family, guiding her children 2
through various activities, and took great pride in their many achievements throughout the years. 3
In addition to her family, she dedicated her time to numerous community organizations including 4
Kent Memorial Hospital, Knotty Oak, Mapleroot, and Still Water Christian Fellowship churches; 5
and 6
WHEREAS, After Kenneth’s passing, Gail met, fell in love, and married Frank 7
Delmonico, with whom she spent the remainder of her life travelling and at their homes in 8
Jamestown and West Greenwich, as well as a condo in Florida; and 9
WHEREAS, Mrs. Delmonico was also blessed with a second family to love including 10
Domenic Delmonico and his wife Priscilla, their children David Delmonico, Bethany Boucher, 11
her husband Scott, their children William and Ava, Mary Jean Jene, her daughter Nadine Pacher 12
and her husband Chris, their child Sophia, Carolyn Buono, her children Anthony, his children 13
Julien and Stella, Christina Buono, her children Sienna, Autumn and Isla, Ann with her children 14
Alana Ellis, her husband Mike, their child Henry, and Gillian Cardarelli and Michael and his wife 15
Deborah, their children Victoria, Nicholas and Ian; and 16
WHEREAS, Gail Breene-Delmonico lived a long and happy life surrounded by family, 17
love, good friends and good times, and she will be dearly missed and always remembered by 18
them all; now, therefore be it 19
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby extends deepest 20
condolences on the passing of Gail Breene-Delmonico; and be it further 21
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 22
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mr. Frank Delmonico and Family, the 23
Honorable Kevin Breene and Family, Karen Zarlenga and Family, and Gregory Breene and 24
Family. 25
