AMENDING THE RULES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE YEARS
2023 AND 2024

RESOLVED, that section 37(a) of the rules of the House of Representatives adopted by 1
the House of Representatives at its January session, A.D. 2023, entitled “House Resolution 2
Adopting the Rules of the House of Representatives for the years 2023 and 2024”, be and the 3
same is hereby amended to read as follows: 4
(37)(a) The presiding officer may refer to "Mason's Manual of Legislative Procedure," 5
most recent edition, published by the National Conference of State Legislatures, for guidance as 6
to procedure on the floor of the House in all cases in which its provisions are not inconsistent 7
with applicable law or these rules. The presiding officer shall publish and make available to the 8
House, a compilation of House procedure which is not addressed in either these rules or in 9
"Mason's Manual of Legislative Procedure." 10
