23	23	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
24	24	SECTION 1. Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1
25	25	Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
26	26	27-18-95. Physical therapists. 3
27	27	(a) An individual or group health insurance plan or policy delivered, issued for delivery, or 4
28	28	renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2026, shall not impose a copayment, coinsurance, or 5
29	29	office visit deductible amount charged to the insured for services rendered by a physical therapist 6
30	30	licensed under § 5-40-7 that is greater than the copayment, coinsurance or office visit deductible 7
31	31	amount charged to the insured for the services of a primary care physician or osteopath licensed 8
32	32	under chapter 37 of title 5. 9
33	33	(b) An insurer shall state clearly the availability of physical therapy coverage under its plan 10
34	34	and all related limitations, conditions, and exclusions. 11
35	35	SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 12
36	36	Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 13
37	37	27-19-87. Physical therapists. 14
38	38	(a) An individual or group health insurance plan or policy delivered, issued for delivery, or 15
39	39	renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2026, shall not impose a copayment, coinsurance, or 16
40	40	office visit deductible amount charged to the insured for services rendered by a physical therapist 17
41	41	licensed under § 5-40-7 that is greater than the copayment, coinsurance or office visit deductible 18

53	53	renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2026, shall not impose a copayment, coinsurance, or 9
54	54	office visit deductible amount charged to the insured for services rendered by a physical therapist 10
55	55	licensed under § 5-40-7 that is greater than the copayment, coinsurance or office visit deductible 11
56	56	amount charged to the insured for the services of a primary care physician or osteopath licensed 12
57	57	under chapter 37 of title 5. 13

60	60	SECTION 4. Chapter 27-41 of the General Laws entitled "Health Maintenance 16
61	61	Organizations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 17
62	62	27-41-100. Physical therapists. 18
63	63	(a) An individual or group health insurance plan or policy delivered, issued for delivery, or 19
64	64	renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2026, shall not impose a copayment, coinsurance, or 20
65	65	office visit deductible amount charged to the insured for services rendered by a physical therapist 21
66	66	licensed under § 5-40-7 that is greater than the copayment, coinsurance or office visit deductible 22
67	67	amount charged to the insured for the services of a primary care physician or osteopath licensed 23
68	68	under chapter 37 of title 5. 24
69	69	(b) An insurer shall state clearly the availability of physical therapy coverage under its plan 25
70	70	and all related limitations, conditions, and exclusions. 26
71	71	SECTION 5. This act shall take effect upon passage. 27
