EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE P ASSING OF RALPH P. FARGNOLI, SR.

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Mr. 1
Ralph P. Fargnoli, Sr., the devoted husband of Phyllis A. Fargnoli for 70 years; and 2
WHEREAS, Mr. Fargnoli was born in Providence, a son of Joseph Fargnoli and Maria 3
Fargnoli. Mr. Fargnoli was a patriot who deeply loved his country. He served our nation with 4
distinction as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War era. He achieved the 5
rank of Sergeant and served with the prestigious 3rd Infantry Regiment, “The Old Guard”, which 6
was stationed in Washington, D.C. He also served in the 152nd Air National Guard for two years; 7
and 8
WHEREAS, Ralph Fargnoli was also a hard-working family man who strove daily to 9
provide for his loved ones. Mr. Fargnoli was a devoted public servant who worked for the United 10
States Post Office and provided exemplary service to the American public for 32 years, serving 11
the latter two years in management positions at the divisional and regional levels; and 12
WHEREAS, Ralph Fargnoli also served the Rhode Island public and the Rhode Island 13
House of Representatives with distinction as a doorkeeper from 1994 to 2016, and is well-14
remembered by all he served with for his excellent service, his warmth and compassion for 15
everyone he interacted with, and his wonderful sense of humor. He brought a smile to the faces of 16
all who interacted with him; and 17
WHEREAS, In addition to his wife Phyllis, Ralph Fargnoli leaves behind his children, 18
Joseph P. Fargnoli, Sr., and his wife, Patricia, Ralph P. Fargnoli, Jr., and his wife, Judith, and 19
Mary Elizabeth Leone and her husband, Marc. Mr. Fargnoli also leaves behind his ten 20

grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; now, therefore be it 1
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby 2
expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Ralph P. Fargnoli, Sr., and be it further 3
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 4
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Phyllis A. Fargnoli and Family. 5
