| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 31-10.3 of the General Laws entitled "Rhode Island Uniform 1 |

| 25 | 25 | | Commercial Driver’s License Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 |

| 26 | 26 | | 31-10.3-13.1. Education and training to recognize and report human trafficking. 3 |

| 27 | 27 | | Any trade school or education program offering instruction in the operation of commercial 4 |

| 28 | 28 | | motor vehicles for licensure pursuant to this chapter, and any entity employing a certified 5 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | commercial driving instructor to provide commercial driver training, as defined in this chapter, 6 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | shall offer and include, as part of the commercial motor vehicle driving course curriculum, 7 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | industry-specific training on the recognition, prevention, and reporting of human trafficking. The 8 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | office of the postsecondary commissioner shall be responsible for ensuring the instruction 9 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | requirements of this section are met. The postsecondary commissioner, in conjunction with 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | organizations that specialize in the recognition and prevention of human trafficking, shall annually 11 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | review and update the training to include changes and trends in human trafficking. 12 |
