| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 40-16 of the General Laws entitled "Community Health Centers" is 1 |

| 23 | 23 | | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 |

| 24 | 24 | | 40-16-5. Community based health care investment. 3 |

| 25 | 25 | | (a) The department of health in consultation with the executive office of health and human 4 |

| 26 | 26 | | services, shall collaborate with community health centers, to establish new programs designed to 5 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | attract additional federal funds, with a focus on available Medicaid assistance and Teaching Health 6 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Center Graduate Medical Education programs. 7 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (b) The residency selection process at any community health center for any doctor, shall 8 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | include as a consideration, the likelihood of the doctor remaining employed at that community 9 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | health center upon the completion of the doctor's residency. 10 |
