2121 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. Chapter 40-16 of the General Laws entitled "Community Health Centers" is 1
2323 hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
2424 40-16-5. Community based health care investment. 3
2525 (a) The department of health in consultation with the executive office of health and human 4
2626 services, shall collaborate with community health centers, to establish new programs designed to 5
2727 attract additional federal funds, with a focus on available Medicaid assistance and Teaching Health 6
2828 Center Graduate Medical Education programs. 7
2929 (b) The residency selection process at any community health center for any doctor, shall 8
3030 include as a consideration, the likelihood of the doctor remaining employed at that community 9
3131 health center upon the completion of the doctor's residency. 10
3232 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 11
