22	22	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
23	23	SECTION 1. Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1
24	24	Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
25	25	27-18-68.1. Mandatory coverage for scalp cooling systems. 3
26	26	(a) Every individual or group hospital or medical expense insurance policy or individual 4
27	27	or group hospital or medical services plan contract delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this 5
28	28	state on or after January 1, 2026, shall provide coverage to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer 6
29	29	and undergoing chemotherapy treatments for scalp cooling systems to preserve hair during 7
30	30	chemotherapy treatments. 8
31	31	(b) This section shall not apply to insurance coverage providing benefits for: 9
32	32	(1) Hospital confinement indemnity; 10
33	33	(2) Disability income; 11
34	34	(3) Accident only; 12
35	35	(4) Long-term care; 13
36	36	(5) Medicare supplement; 14
37	37	(6) Limited benefit health; 15
38	38	(7) Specified disease indemnity; 16
39	39	(8) Sickness or bodily injury or death by accident or both; and 17
40	40	(9) Other limited benefit policies. 18
41	41	SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 19

45	45	Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 1
46	46	27-19-59.1. Mandatory coverage for scalp cooling systems. 2
47	47	(a) Every individual or group hospital or medical expense insurance policy or individual 3
48	48	or group hospital or medical services plan contract delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this 4
49	49	state on or after January 1, 2026, shall provide coverage to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer 5
50	50	and undergoing chemotherapy treatments for scalp cooling systems to preserve hair during 6
51	51	chemotherapy treatments. 7
52	52	(b) This section shall not apply to insurance coverage providing benefits for: 8

63	63	Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 19
64	64	27-20-54.1. Mandatory coverage for scalp cooling systems. 20
65	65	(a) Every individual or group hospital or medical expense insurance policy or individual 21
66	66	or group hospital or medical services plan contract delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this 22
67	67	state on or after January 1, 2026, shall provide coverage to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer 23
68	68	and undergoing chemotherapy treatments for scalp cooling systems to preserve hair during 24
69	69	chemotherapy treatments. 25
70	70	(b) This section shall not apply to insurance coverage providing benefits for: 26

85	85	27-41-71.1. Mandatory coverage for scalp cooling systems. 4
86	86	(a) Every individual or group hospital or medical expense insurance policy or individual 5
87	87	or group hospital or medical services plan contract delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this 6
88	88	state on or after January 1, 2026, shall provide coverage to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer 7
89	89	and undergoing chemotherapy treatments for scalp cooling systems to preserve hair during 8
90	90	chemotherapy treatments. 9
91	91	(b) This section shall not apply to insurance coverage providing benefits for: 10
