| 22 | 22 | It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 1. Chapter 45-53 of the General Laws entitled "Low and Moderate Income 1 | |
| 24 | 24 | Housing" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | 45-53-17. Eligibility for low- and moderate-income housing – Tiverton. 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | (a) Any person who applies to rent or purchase a residence located in the town of Tiverton 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | which qualifies as low- or moderate-income housing, shall require proof of Rhode Island residency 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | or employment by a local, state or federal entity. 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | (b) For purposes of this section, local entity shall mean a municipality within the State of 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | Rhode Island and a state entity shall mean the State of Rhode Island. 8 | |
