| 21 | 21 | | It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 45-53 of the General Laws entitled "Low and Moderate Income 1 |

| 23 | 23 | | Housing" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 |

| 24 | 24 | | 45-53-17. Tiverton emergency moratorium. 3 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (a) If the town of Tiverton, shall at any time have an aggregate of five hundred (500) or 4 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | more units proposed in a comprehensive permit project or projects, the town of Tiverton may enact 5 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | an emergency moratorium and not accept or process further applications. No application proposed, 6 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | offered, submitted or tendered during any moratorium imposed pursuant to the provisions of this 7 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | section shall have any grandfathered status. 8 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (b) The town of Tiverton, upon adoption of any moratorium in accordance with the 9 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | provisions of subsection (a) of this section, may continue to impose the moratorium until such time 10 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | as comprehensive permit requirements in § 45-53-4 are amended. 11 |
