1515 RELATING TO INSURANCE -- ACCIDENT AND SICKNESS INSURANCE POLICIES

2222 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2323 SECTION 1. Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1
2424 Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
2525 27-18-95. Acute mental health crisis mobile response and stabilization services. 3
2626 (a) Mobile response and stabilization services are services delivered to provide rapid 4
2727 response to, assessment of, and early intervention for a child or youth eighteen (18) years of age 5
2828 and younger experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Symptoms might include, but are not 6
2929 limited to: 7
3030 (1) Aggression; 8
3131 (2) Self-injury; 9
3232 (3) Trauma; 10
3333 (4) Acute depression/anxiety; 11
3434 (5) Challenges at school; 12
3535 (6) Suicidal or homicidal thoughts/behaviors; and 13
3636 (7) Extreme parent/child conflict. 14
3737 (b) Coverage is required under this section for mobile response and stabilization services 15
3838 provided to any eligible individual under subsection (a) of this section enrolled as a plan beneficiary 16
3939 as with any other behavioral health services covered in any other settings or modalities, regardless 17
4040 of any difference in billing codes. 18
4141 SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 19

4545 Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 1
4646 27-19-87. Acute mental health crisis mobile response and stabilization services. 2
4747 (a) Mobile response and stabilization services are services delivered to provide rapid 3
4848 response to, assessment of, and early intervention for a child or youth eighteen (18) years of age 4
4949 and younger experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Symptoms might include, but are not 5

6565 (a) Mobile response and stabilization services are services delivered to provide rapid 21
6666 response to, assessment of, and early intervention for a child or youth eighteen (18) years of age 22
6767 and younger experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Symptoms might include, but are not 23
6868 limited to: 24
6969 (1) Aggression; 25
7070 (2) Self-injury; 26
7171 (3) Trauma; 27
7272 (4) Acute depression/anxiety; 28
7373 (5) Challenges at school; 29

8787 response to, assessment of, and early intervention for a child or youth eighteen (18) years of age 6
8888 and younger experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Symptoms might include, but are not 7

9191 (2) Self-injury; 10
