2222 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2323 SECTION 1. Section 3-7-19 of the General Laws in Chapter 3-7 entitled "Retail Licenses" 1
2424 is hereby amended to read as follows: 2
2525 3-7-19. Objection by adjoining property owners — Proximity to schools and 3
2626 churches. Proximity to schools and churches restrictions. 4
2727 (a) Retailers’ Class B, C, N and I licenses, and any license provided for in § 3-7-16.8, shall 5
2828 not be issued to authorize the sale of beverages in any building where the owner of the greater part 6
2929 of the land within two hundred feet (200′) of any point of the building files with the body or official 7
3030 having jurisdiction to grant licenses his or her objection to the granting of the license, nor in any 8
3131 building within two hundred feet (200′) of the premises of any public, private, or parochial school 9
3232 or a place of public worship. In the city of East Providence, retailer’s Class A licenses shall not be 10
3333 issued to authorize the sale of beverages in any building within five hundred feet (500′) of the 11
3434 premises of any public, private, or parochial school, or a place of public worship. 12
3535 (b) As used in this section, “private school” means any nonpublic institution of elementary 13
3636 or secondary (K-12th grade) education, accredited or recognized as a private school by the 14
3737 department of elementary and secondary education or the school committee of the city or town 15
3838 having jurisdiction over private schools. 16
3939 (c) This section shall not apply to any Class B or C license holder whose license was issued 17
4040 prior to January 1, 1978, nor shall this section apply to, or constitute the basis of, an objection to, 18
4141 or disapproval of, the transfer of a Class B or C license where the location of the licensed 19

4545 establishment predates the location of the public, private, or parochial school, or place of public 1
4646 worship. 2
4747 (d)(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 3
4848 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 4
4949 any proposed retailer Class B, C, or I license intended to be located within the following described 5
5050 area(s) in the city of Providence: 6
5151 (A) Beginning at a point, that point being the intersection of the southerly line of Smith 7
5252 Street and the easterly taking line of Interstate Route 95; 8
5353 Thence running in a general southwesterly direction along the easterly taking line of 9
5454 Interstate Route 95 to the center line of Kingsley Avenue; 10
5555 Thence turning and running northwesterly in part along the southerly line of Kingsley 11

9494 Beginning at a point, that point being the intersection of the southerly line of Broadway 13
9595 and the easterly line of Courthouse Square; 14
9696 Thence running in a general northeasterly direction along the southerly line of Broadway 15
9797 a distance of one hundred and two feet (102′) to a point at the southeasterly corner of land now or 16
9898 formerly owned by the Newport Historical Society; 17
9999 Thence turning and running in a southeasterly direction ninety-eight and nine-tenths feet 18
100100 (98.9′) along the southwesterly border of land now or formerly owned by the Newport Historical 19
101101 Society; 20
102102 Thence turning and running in a southwesterly direction one hundred and twelve feet (112′) 21
103103 to Courthouse Street; and 22
104104 Thence turning and running in a generally northwesterly direction along Courthouse Street 23
105105 for a distance of ninety feet (90′) to the point and place of beginning. 24
106106 (3) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 25
107107 Warren shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 26
108108 proposed retailer Class B, C, or I license intended to be located within any zoning district in the 27
109109 town of Warren which is designated as a limited business district or as a general business district 28
110110 pursuant to the zoning ordinance of the town of Warren. 29
111111 (4) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 30
112112 Bristol shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 31
113113 proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located on lot 34 of tax assessors plat 10 of the 32
114114 Bristol tax assessors map as of December 31, 1999, including that portion of the public sidewalk 33
115115 contiguous to said lot. 34

119119 (5) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses for the city of 1
120120 Newport shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section as 2
121121 to places of public worship any proposed sidewalk cafe as defined in the Codified Ordinance of the 3
122122 city of Newport, provided that the applicant be an existing holder of a Retailers’ Class B license. 4
123123 (6) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 5
124124 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 6
125125 any proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located on lot 131 of tax assessors plat 68 of 7
126126 the Providence tax assessors map as of December 31, 1999, and any proposed retailer Class B 8
127127 license intended to be located on lot 21 of the tax assessors map plat 49 and any proposed retailer 9
128128 class BV license intended to be located on lots 3 and 5 of tax assessors map plat 35 of the 10
129129 Providence tax assessors map as of December 31, 2003. 11
130130 (7) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 12
131131 Cranston shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 13
132132 any proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located on either lot 160 of tax assessor’s plat 14
133133 9, and/or on lot 152 of tax assessor’s plat 9, of the Cranston tax assessor’s map as of December 31, 15
134134 2002; provided, however, as to the subsequent transfer of said Class B license issued by the city of 16
135135 Cranston under this exemption, whether said transfer is attributable to the holder’s death or 17
136136 otherwise, any person desiring to become the potential transferee of said Class B license shall 18
137137 comply with those restrictions as to its use (and shall refrain from those activities which result in 19
138138 its reversion) set forth in the city of Cranston Memorandum of Understanding dated May 13, 2003, 20
139139 and, in addition, those requirements applicable to anyone who desires to become a transferee of a 21
140140 validly issued and outstanding Class B license designated for use in any location in the state of 22
141141 Rhode Island. Neither the exemption granted herein nor any future exemption granted hereafter 23
142142 shall be effective until the proposed Class B license and the underlying property owner is certified 24
143143 to be current in the payment of any and all local and state taxes. 25
144144 (8) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 26
145145 Pawtucket shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 27
146146 any proposed retailer Class B, C, or I license intended to be located within the following described 28
147147 area in the city of Pawtucket: 29
148148 Beginning at the point of intersection of Dexter Street and the Central Falls line, then east 30
149149 along the Central Falls line to the Blackstone River, then north along the city boundary on the 31
150150 Blackstone River to the Cumberland line, then west along the Pawtucket city boundary line to I-32
151151 95, then south along I-95 to Pine Street, then north on Pine Street to AMTRAK Right of Way, then 33
152152 northwest along the AMTRAK Right of Way to Dexter Street, then north on Dexter Street to the 34

157157 (9) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of Little 2
158158 Compton, after application, is authorized to exempt from the provisions of this section relating to 3
159159 places of worship any class B license limited to malt and vinous beverages intended to be located 4
160160 on Plat 30, Lot 33 of the town of Little Compton tax assessment map existing as of December 31, 5
161161 2004. 6
162162 (10) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 7
163163 Bristol shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 8
164164 proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located on lots 3, 18, and 19 of tax assessors plat 9
165165 10 of the Bristol tax assessors map as of December 31, 2007. 10
166166 (11) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 11
167167 Smithfield, after application, is authorized to exempt from the provisions of this section, any class 12
168168 B, C, or I license intended to be located on Plat 45, Lot 042 of the town of Smithfield, tax 13
169169 assessment map existing as of December 31, 2007; provided, however, said exemption shall apply 14
170170 only to any renewal of any class B, C, or I license issued for use at the said premises located on 15
171171 plat 45, lot 042 as of December 31, 2011. In the event said license is not renewed, then this 16
172172 exemption is hereby repealed in its entirety. 17
173173 (12) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 18
174174 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 19
175175 any proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located on plat 13, lots 31 and 32 of the 20
176176 applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 21
177177 (13) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 22
178178 Tiverton shall, after the application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 23
179179 a proposed retailer’s Class BV license for a restaurant located on tax assessor’s plat 181, lot 1A. 24
180180 (14) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 25
181181 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 26
182182 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on tax assessor’s plat 68, lot 732. 27
183183 (15) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 28
184184 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 29
185185 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on plat 105, lot 489, plat 105, lot 12 30
186186 and plat 32, lot 232 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 31
187187 (16) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the city council of the city of Central 32
188188 Falls, shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 33
189189 proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on plat 5, lot 188 of the applicable city 34

194194 (17) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 2
195195 Portsmouth shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 3
196196 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on plat 37, lot 69 of the applicable 4
197197 town of Portsmouth tax assessment map. 5
198198 (18) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 6
199199 North Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this 7
200200 section any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on plat 23A, lot 98 of the 8
201201 applicable town of North Providence tax assessment map. 9
202202 (19) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 10
203203 Cranston shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 11
204204 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on Plat 11, lot 3558 of the applicable 12
205205 city of Cranston tax assessment map. 13
206206 (20) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 14
207207 Smithfield, after application, is authorized to exempt from the provisions of this section, any Class 15
208208 B or C license intended to be located on Plat 6, Lot 54 of the town of Smithfield tax assessors map 16
209209 as of December 31, 2012. 17
210210 (21) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 18
211211 Cranston shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 19
212212 any proposed retailers class B license intended to be located on tax assessors plat 1, lot 2170 of the 20
213213 applicable city of Cranston tax assessment map as of December 31, 2012. 21
214214 (22) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 22
215215 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 23
216216 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on tax assessor’s plat 43, lot 211. 24
217217 (23) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 25
218218 North Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this 26
219219 section any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on Plat 22A, Lot 336, of the 27
220220 applicable town of North Providence tax assessment map. 28
221221 (24) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the city council of the city of Central 29
222222 Falls shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 30
223223 proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on plat 1, lot 164 of the applicable city 31
224224 of Central Falls tax assessment map. 32
225225 (25) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 33
226226 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 34

230230 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 1948-1950 Westminster Street on 1
231231 plat 35, lot 359 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 2
232232 (26) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 3
233233 Middletown, after application, is authorized to exempt from the provisions of this section, any 4
234234 proposed retailer’s Class BV license intended to be located on Plat 107 NW, Lot 55 of the town of 5
235235 Middletown’s tax assessor’s maps as of December 31, 2014. 6
236236 (27) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 7
237237 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 8
238238 any retailer Class B, C or I license intended to be located on Plat 109, Lot 289, of the applicable 9
239239 city of Providence tax assessor’s map. 10
240240 (28) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 11
241241 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 12
242242 any proposed retailer’s Class BV license intended to be located at 226 and 230 Dean Street on plat 13
243243 25, lot 44 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 14
244244 (29) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 15
245245 East Greenwich shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this 16
246246 section any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 219 Main Street on map/lot 17
247247 085 001 212 0000 of the applicable town of East Greenwich tax assessment map. 18
248248 (30) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 19
249249 East Greenwich shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this 20
250250 section any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 137 Main Street on map/lot 21
251251 085-001-412; 59 Main Street on map/lot 085-001-236; 555 Main Street on map/lot 075-003-084; 22
252252 74 Cliff Street on map/lot 075-003-040; 609 Main Street on map/lot 075-003-080; 241 Main Street 23
253253 on map/lot 085-001-208; 155 Main Street on map/lot 085-001-222; 149 Main Street on map/lot 24
254254 085-001-223; and 2 Academy Court on map/lot 085-001-211 of the applicable Town of East 25
255255 Greenwich tax assessment map. 26
256256 (31) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 27
257257 Lincoln shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 28
258258 proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located on tax assessor’s plat 10, lot 108, of the 29
259259 Lincoln tax assessor’s map as of December 31, 2015. 30
260260 (32) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 31
261261 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 32
262262 any proposed retailer’s Class C license intended to be located at 215 Dean Street on plat 28, lot 961 33
263263 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 34

267267 (33) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 1
268268 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 2
269269 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 100-102 Hope Street on plat 16, 3
270270 lot 263 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 4
271271 (34) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the town of 5
272272 Cumberland shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 6
273273 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 88 Broad Street on Lots 32, 51, 7
274274 and 52 of Plat 2 Cumberland tax assessor’s map as of December 31, 2016. 8
275275 (35) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 9
276276 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 10
277277 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 11 Lowell Avenue, 191 Pocasset 11
278278 Avenue and 187 Pocasset Avenue on Lots 22, 23, and 24 of Plat 108 Providence tax assessor’s map 12
279279 as of December 31, 2017. 13
280280 (36) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the city council in the city of Central 14
281281 Falls shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 15
282282 proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on Plat 1, of Lot 171 of the applicable 16
283283 city of Central Falls tax assessment map. 17
284284 (37) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 18
285285 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 19
286286 any proposed retailer’s Class BV and Class BX license intended to be located at 161 Douglas 20
287287 Avenue on plat 68, lot 201 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 21
288288 (38) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 22
289289 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 23
290290 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 1007 Broad Street, Plat 53, Lot 24
291291 192 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map and 1017 Broad Street Plat 53, Lot 25
292292 582 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 26
293293 (39) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the city council in the city of 27
294294 Woonsocket shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 28
295295 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 122 North Main Street, Map/Lot 29
296296 130-125-005 of the applicable city of Woonsocket tax assessment map. 30
297297 (40) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the city council of the city of 31
298298 Woonsocket, after application, is authorized to exempt from the provisions of this section, any 32
299299 proposed retailers’ license of any class intended to be located within the Downtown Overlay 33
300300 District. 34

304304 (41) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 1
305305 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 2
306306 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 375 Smith Street, Plat 68, Lot 132 3
307307 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 4
308308 (42) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 5
309309 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 6
310310 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 671 Broadway Street, Plat 35, Lot 7
311311 566 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 8
312312 (43) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 9
313313 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 10
314314 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 464-468 Wickenden Street, also 11
315315 identified as 8 Governor Street, Plat 17, Lot 179 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment 12
316316 map. 13
317317 (44) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 14
318318 Westerly shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 15
319319 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 114 Granite Street, Westerly, RI 16
320320 02891, Plat 67, Lot 278 of the applicable town of Westerly tax assessment map. 17
321321 (45) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses in the city of 18
322322 Woonsocket shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 19
323323 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 43 Railroad Street, Plat 14R, Lot 20
324324 205 of the applicable city of Woonsocket tax assessment map. 21
325325 (46) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 22
326326 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 23
327327 any proposed retailer Class BL license or Class BV license intended to be located at 601 Hartford 24
328328 Avenue, Plat 113, Lot 50 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 25
329329 (47) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 26
330330 Westerly shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 27
331331 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 169 and 177 Main Street, Westerly, 28
332332 RI 02891, Map 66, Lots 8 and 9 of the applicable town of Westerly tax assessment map. 29
333333 (48) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the city council of the city of East 30
334334 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 31
335335 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 332 Bullock Point Avenue, East 32
336336 Providence, RI 02915, Map 312, Block 12, Parcel 018.00 of the applicable city of East Providence 33

341341 (49) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of license commissioners of 1
342342 the city of Pawtucket shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of 2
343343 this section any proposed retailers Class B, C, or N license intended to be located on Plat 54B, Lots 3
344344 826 and 827; Plat 65B, Lot 662; and Plat 23A, Lots 599, 672, and 673 of the city of Pawtucket tax 4
345345 assessment map existing as of March 1, 2021. 5

348348 proposed retailer Class BVL license intended to be located at 53 Narragansett Avenue, Plat 9, Lot 8
349349 207 of the applicable town of Jamestown tax assessment map. 9
350350 (51) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 10
351351 Providence, shall after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 11
352352 any proposed retailer Class BV and Class P license intended to be located at 203-209 Douglas 12
353353 Avenue, Plat 68, Lots 83 and 646 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 13
354354 (52) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of East 14
355355 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 15
356356 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 130 Taunton Avenue, Map 106, 16
357357 Block 6, Parcel 15 of the applicable city of East Providence tax assessment map. 17
358358 (53) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 18
359359 Barrington shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 19
360360 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 305 Sowams Road, Barrington, 20
361361 R.I. 02806, Plat 30, Lot 141 of the applicable town of Barrington tax assessment map. 21
362362 (54) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 22
363363 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 23
364364 any proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located at 737 Hope Street, Plat 6, Lot 595 of 24
365365 the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 25
366366 (55) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 26
367367 Warren shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 27
368368 proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located at 4 Market Street, Plat 3, Lot 74 of the 28
369369 applicable town of Warren tax assessment map. 29
370370 (56) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the town council of the town of 30
371371 Westerly shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 31
372372 any proposed retailers’ Class B license intended to be located at 163 Main Street, Westerly, RI 32
373373 02891, Map 66, Lot 11 of the applicable town of Westerly tax assessment map. 33
374374 (57) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 34

381381 (58) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 4
382382 North Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this 5
383383 section, any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located on tax assessor’s Plat 19, Lot 6

385385 (59) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 8
386386 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 9
387387 any proposed retailer Class B license intended to be located at 12 Governor Street, Plat 17, Lot 180 10
388388 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 11
389389 (60) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 12
390390 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 13
391391 any proposed retailer Class B or Class BV licenses intended to be located at 371 Smith Street, Plat 14
392392 68, Lot 2 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 15
393393 (61) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 16
394394 Bristol shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section any 17
395395 proposed retailer Class B or Class BV licenses intended to be located at 499 Hope Street, Map 9, 18
396396 Lot 75 of the applicable town of Bristol tax assessment map. 19
397397 (62) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the town of 20
398398 South Kingstown shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this 21
399399 section any proposed retailer’s Class BV license intended to be located at 357 Main Street, a/k/a 22
400400 359 Main Street, Plat 56-3, Lot 50, of the applicable town of South Kingstown tax assessment map. 23
401401 (63) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of 24
402402 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 25
403403 any proposed retailer Class B or Class BV licenses intended to be located at 225 Waterman Street, 26
404404 Plat 14, Lot 508 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 27
405405 (64) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses of the city of East 28
406406 Providence shall, after application, have the authority to exempt from the provisions of this section 29
407407 any proposed retailer’s Class B license intended to be located at 136 Taunton Avenue, Map 106, 30

431431 Lot 210 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. 17
432432 SECTION 2. Chapter 3-7 of the General Laws entitled "Retail Licenses" is hereby amended 18
433433 by adding thereto the following section: 19
434434 3-7-19.1. Objection by adjoining property owners. 20
435435 (a) Retailers' Class B, C, N and I licenses, and any license provided for in § 3-7-16.8, shall 21
436436 not be issued to authorize the sale of beverages in any building where the owner of the greater part 22
437437 of the land within two hundred feet (200') of any point of the building files with the body or official 23
438438 having jurisdiction to grant licenses his or her objection to the granting of the license. 24
439439 (b) This section shall not apply to any Class B or C license holder whose license was issued 25
440440 prior to January 1, 1978. 26
