RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS -- PROTECTIONS OF HEALTHCARE
PROVIDERS ACT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 5-37.8 of the General Laws entitled "Protections for Healthcare 1
Providers Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
5-37.8-4. Prescriptive protections for providers of legal protected healthcare activity. 3
(a) Notwithstanding any other provision in this chapter to the contrary, the prescription 4
label for medication abortion prescription drugs shall include the name of the dispensing healthcare 5
practice instead of the name of the dispenser. 6
(b) For purposes of this section, “medication abortion prescription drugs” means 7
substances used in the course of medical treatment intended to induce the termination of a 8
pregnancy including, but not limited to, mifepristone and misoprostol. 9
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 10

This act would provide that the prescription label for medication abortion prescription 1
drugs shall include the name of the dispensing healthcare practice instead of the name of the 2
dispenser. 3
This act would take effect upon passage. 4
