| 21 | 21 | | It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 20-2 of the General Laws entitled "Licensing" is hereby amended by 1 |

| 23 | 23 | | adding thereto the following section: 2 |

| 24 | 24 | | 20-2-46. Green crab harvest and license. 3 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (a) Any person may take the aquatic nuisance species commonly known as green crabs, 4 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | more specifically known as the species carcinis maenas; provided that, such person does the 5 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | following: 6 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (1) Gives written notice to such effect to the director; 7 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (2) Marks all traps, gear and buoys in a uniform manner in accordance with requirements 8 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | set forth by the director; and 9 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (3) Files an annual report with the director setting forth the approximate number of bushels 10 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of green crabs taken each month of the year and whether such crabs were destroyed or used for bait 11 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | purposes in the state. 12 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (b) Rhode Island residents may be granted a commercial green crab license for a fee of ten 13 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | dollars ($10.00) per season. 14 |

| 36 | 36 | | (c) Any person subject to the provisions of this section shall comply with regulations which 15 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | the director is hereby authorized to promulgate from time to time. 16 |
