Whereas, Bishop Tommy William Sanders was born on September 14, 1946, and departed this earthly life on March 3, 2020, Pastor Sanders faithfully answered the Lord's call to preach the Gospel; and Whereas, at an early age he confessed his faith in Jesus Christ and became a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and in 1990 Bishop Sanders had a vision, along with his wife Mary, founded The Holy Place Church where he pastored for over thirty years; and Whereas, Bishop Tommy William Sanders and his wife Mary Alice Gallman Sanders were married for fifty-four years and raised a large and loving family; Whereas, Bishop Sanders was the administrator of the Holy Place Academy and co-owner of Love and Joy Daycare Center, where he touched the lives of many children. His legacy of his loving and faithful service to God's call and to his community continues to prosper. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, remember the legacy of Bishop Tommy William Sanders, Pastor of The Holy Place Church in Chester.
