99 A house RESOLUTION TO HONOR THE OCEANSIDE COLLEGIATE ACADEMY BOYS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND COACHES ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2024-2025 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO SALUTE THEM ON A FABULOUS SEASON. Whereas, the air on your face and the ground under your feet feel different when you reach the top of the mountain. The Oceanside Collegiate Academy boys volleyball team found that out on Saturday, November 9, 2024, when they knocked off rival Bishop England 3-0 to claim the 2024-2025 South Carolina High School League Class AAAA State Championship title; and Whereas, played at A.C. Flora in Columbia, the championship game gave elated Oceanside fans the chance to see the Landsharks capturing their first-ever state title in boys volleyball; and Whereas, in just the fifth year for the program since starting as a club, the Landsharks finished with a 26-3-1 record this fall. Oceanside secured this first title by earning its third win of the season over the Battling Bishops. The Landsharks set the tone with a 25-14 win in the first set before taking the second set 25-21 and then closing out the match 25-22 for the title; and Whereas, with justifiable pride, Head Coach Doug Smith watched his Landsharks raise their new title trophy. Coach was particularly proud because, while his roster appeared to be veteran in nature, some of his players had only one or two years of volleyball experience coming into the season; and Whereas, the members of the Oceanside Collegiate Academy boys volleyball team have given their school and community reason to be proud of their accomplishments, and the House takes great pleasure in adding its collective voice to the encomiums flowing in to this outstanding group of young athletes. Go, Landsharks! Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor the Oceanside Collegiate Academy boys volleyball team and coaches on their impressive win of the 2024-2025 South Carolina High School League Class AAAA State Championship title and salute them on a fabulous season. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Christina Brown and Head Coach Doug Smith of Oceanside Collegiate Academy. ----XX----
