A house RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE HAMMOND SCHOOL VARSITY COMPETITIVE CHEER TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON CAPTURING THE 2024 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. Whereas, with precision and grace, the Hammond School varsity competitive cheer team earned top honors at the 2024 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 4A state competition, held at Gray Collegiate Academy on Saturday, November 16, 2024; and Whereas, the Lady Skyhawks, performing under the theme "The Royal Hammond Queens," left it all on the mat, surpassing all comers to capture the state title and its impressive hardware; and Whereas, moreover, the undefeated Lady Skyhawks (8-0) added the current season's effort to last year's magnificent undefeated finish, giving them back-to-back undefeated seasonal standing; and Whereas, leading the way to the 2024 crown were seniors Grace Webb, Kate Weston, Illeana Lopez, Anna Claire Liester, and Arrington Earle; and Whereas, thanks to the always first-class leadership of Head Coach Saundra Guerard and Assistant Coach Morgan Hopkins, the talented athletes of the Hammond School cheer team showed out like the champions they are; and Whereas, the South Carolina House values the pride and recognition that the Hammond competitive cheer squad has brought to both school and community, and the members look forward to following the team's continued achievements in the seasons to come. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Hammond School varsity competitive cheer team, coaches, and school officials for an extraordinary season and congratulate them on capturing the 2024 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 4A State Championship title. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head of School Andy North and Head Coach Saundra Guerard of Hammond School. ----XX----
