A house RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE LAURENCE MANNING ACADEMY COED BOWLING TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR ANOTHER REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (SCISA) STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Laurence Manning coed bowling team of Clarendon County captured the state title at the SCISA state tournament held at Gamecock Lanes in Sumter on Monday, February 3, 2025; and Whereas, to the delight of their exuberant fans, the Laurence Manning Swampcats defeated a competitive field of comers to garner the team's eleventh state trophy. Laurence Manning won with a score of 566 in the three games of the final tournament, defeating Porter-Gaud School, who scored 445; and Whereas, the Swampcat coed bowling team included Sydnie Vohs, Charlotte Baker, Leland Mitchum, Jason Skinner, and Colby Hasty, and they won all of their 17 matches this season, finishing with a 17-0 record; and Whereas, making the Swampcat's victory all the sweeter, Sydnie Vohs captured another Individual Girls State Championship, and teammate Charlotte Baker followed in second place; and Whereas, in a sport that demands precision, finesse, and controlled power, Head Coach Jay Atkins and his skilled coaching assistants, Brad and Amy Vohs, capitalized on their own athletic experience and training to produce a championship-caliber team and teach these athletes life principles that will endure beyond the lanes; and Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the pride and recognition that the Laurence Manning Academy bowlers have brought to their school and their community, and the members look forward to following their continued accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Laurence Manning Academy coed bowling team, coaches, and school officials for another remarkable season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) State Championship title. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Headmaster Tripp Boykin and Coach Jay Atkins. ----XX----
