9 | 9 | | A house RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER 2 SHERILLE WASHINGTON-BELL FOR HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES ARMY AND TO DECLARE AUGUST 1, 2025, AS "CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER 2 SHERILLE WASHINGTON-BELL DAY" IN SOUTH CAROLINA. Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to commend those in the Armed Forces who protect our treasured freedoms, like Chief Warrant Officer 2 Sherille Washington-Bell; and Whereas, a native of Brooklyn, New York, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Washington-Bell enlisted in 2005 as a unit supply specialist (92Y). As an enlisted soldier, she successfully served in a variety of leadership and technical positions throughout her career: as a supply specialist advanced individual training (AIT) instructor writer, executive assistant to the 11th Quartermaster Regimental CSM, Senior Drill Sergeant, and Afghanistan Pakistan Logistics Advisor (AFPAK) Hand. Her duty stations included Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort Gregg Adams, formerly Fort Lee, Virginia; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; United States Army Pentagon, in Washington, D. C., and currently Fort Liberty, recently renamed Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and Whereas, her military education includes Warrant Officer Candidate School, Warrant Officer Basic Course, and different levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System (NCOPDS). Additionally, she is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute (Dari); Drill Sergeant Academy; Army Basic Instructor Course; Master Resilience Trainer Course; SHARP Certification Course; Support Operations PHASE II Course; Equal Opportunity Leaders Course; and Contracting Officer Representative Course; and Whereas, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Washington-Bell currently serves as the 525 Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade (E-MIB) accountable property officer. Certified as a demonstrated senior logistician by the International Society of Logistics, she is working towards a bachelor's degree in transportation logistics management with American Military University; and Whereas, her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Commendation Medal, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Achievement Medal, 5 Oak Leaf Clusters; Meritorious Unit Citation; Army Good Conduct Medal, 4th Award; National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Numeral 3; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon, Numeral 3; NATO Medal; the Army Staff Badge; and the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge. She is also the proud recipient of the Quartermaster Order of Saint Martin and the Military Intelligence Order of Sphinx; and Whereas, Chief Warrant Officer Washington-Bell is married to Command Sergeant Major, Retired, Edward Bell. Together they have five children: Nasir, a senior at South Carolina State University; Ed Jr., a certified welder; Devon, an engineer; James, a Department of Defense contractor; and Marcus, a freshman advisor at the University of Colorado in Boulder; and Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the service and sacrifice of Chief Warrant Officer Washington-Bell and commend her for twenty years of service to our great nation. The members wish her continued success and safety during her service in the United States Army. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Chief Warrant Officer 2 Sherille Washington-Bell for her outstanding service to the United States Army and declare August 1, 2025, as "Chief Warrant Officer 2 Sherille Washington-Bell Day" in South Carolina.
