9 | 9 | | A house RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE North Central High School weightlifting TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2025 South Carolina High School Strength Coaches Association AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the North Central weightlifting team of Kershaw County captured the South Carolina High School Strength Coaches Association (SCHSSCA) AA state title at the state strength meet held at Lexington High School on Monday, March 24, 2025; and Whereas, to the delight of their faithful fans, the North Central Iron Knights defeated a competitive field of weightlifters from across the State to win the team's second consecutive state championship; and Whereas, North Central team members who participated in the following classes were: Zaimain Bennett in the 260-pound class, Kealon Bradshaw in the 180-pound class, John Coats in the 160-pound class, and Jalen Wesley in the 150-pound class. All five lifters posted personal records in most of their lifts; and Whereas, making the team's victory that much sweeter, Aiden Wiles took a win in the SCHSSCA unlimited class with a second-best squat of 570, a second-best bench of 370, and best broad jump of 101.5; and Whereas, in a sport that exacts strength, mental fortitude, and individual excellence, Head Coach Ryan McDonnell and his skilled coaching staff capitalized on their own athletic experience and training to build a championship-caliber team and teach these athletes lessons that will prove invaluable through life both on and off the floor of competition; and Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the pride and recognition that the North Central weightlifters have brought to their school and their community, and the members look forward to following their continued accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the North Central High School weightlifting team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina High School Strength Coaches Association AA State Championship title.
