99 A house RESOLUTION to recognize and honor Kellan Fenegan, a senior in the Honors College at Clemson University, and to congratulate her for her stellar collegiate leadership and for her upcoming graduation. Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to commend Kellan Fenegan as she completes her impressive career and studies at Clemson University in May 2025; and Whereas, pursuing a double major in political science and communication and a minor in sociology, Ms. Fenegan is a Thomas F. Chapman Leadership Scholar, a Dixon Global Policy Scholar, a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and an intern in the Office of the President, and she served as the 68th director of one of Clemson University's longest standing traditions: Tigerama; and Whereas, Ms. Fenegan served as the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Student Body president of Clemson. She and her vice president campaigned on the platform, "Elevate Together, Achieve Forever," with the objective of elevating the student experience by connecting students, organizations, clubs, alumni, and administrators together as one Clemson; and Whereas, during her year as president, she and her team had many accomplishments. At the beginning of the academic year, Clemson University Student Government (CUSG) held the annual TigerProwl event, an organizational fair that allows the over five hundred organizations in which Clemson students participate to speak with students seeking to get more involved. At TigerProwl, a record number of over six thousand one hundred students attended; and Whereas, in October, all four councils of Fraternity and Sorority Life donated over five thousand food items, supplies, and essentials to Clemson Community Cares to support those who suffered from impacts of Hurricane Helene. The Student Senate also passed a bill to appropriate up to twenty thousand dollars to Appalachian State University, Western Carolina University, and University of North Carolina-Asheville for Hurricane Helene Relief; and Whereas, in the spring, CUSG and Graduate Student Government hosted Open Forum with the vice president of Student Affairs; the executive vice president for Academic Affairs; the provost, associate provost, and dean of Undergraduate Learning; the associate provost and dean of the Graduate School; and the athletic director as a way to allow both undergraduate students and graduate students to learn more from their administrators firsthand. Many students attended the successful event to hear from the administrators who impact their daily lives at Clemson; and Whereas, at the end of February, twelve individuals in student government leadership went on the ACC Advocacy Days trip in Washington, D. C., to connect with other student leaders in the ACC and advocate with congressional staff members for Clemson initiatives, such as a new student union, the future of NIL, Land Grants, and Pell Grants. Additionally, CUSG created a President's Canvas page with resources that club and organization presidents can join to foster a central location for communication. Overall, CUSG raised over 168,000 dollars in revenue from events to use for more student-facing activities and give back to the student body; and Whereas, while a student at Clemson, Ms. Fenegan served as an intern for Clemson Governmental Affairs and as an intern for Congressman Joe Wilson in Washington, D. C. The South Carolina House of Representatives wishes Kellan continued success as she plans to move to the District after graduation in May 2025 to pursue a career in government. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Kellan Fenegan, a senior in the Honors College at Clemson University, and congratulate her for her stellar collegiate leadership and for her upcoming graduation. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Kellan Fenegan. ----XX----
