99 A house RESOLUTION TO CELEBRATE THE OCCASION OF THE TWENTY-FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF NEW DAY BAPTIST CHURCH AND TO CONGRATULATE AND HONOR REVEREND DR. JAMES L. HAILSTOCK AND THE CONGREGATION FOR THEIR DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE SPARTANBURG COMMUNITY. Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that New Day Baptist Church of Spartanburg celebrated its twenty-first anniversary in January 2025; and Whereas, founded in January 2004, New Day Baptist Church is a nontraditional ministry which embraces aspects of traditional and contemporary worship while seeking to meet the needs of all age groups and ethnicities with Christian joy and the reality of God in everyday life; and Whereas, through the teaching of sound biblical doctrine, led by founding pastor Reverend Dr. James L. Hailstock, New Day's purpose is to lead people to Christ, to worship, and to provide interesting, intergenerational, and relevant ministries that improve all areas of life to make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of people, and its mission is to hear God, preach the Gospel, and develop the church in the Earth through evangelism, encouragement, economics, and education; and Whereas, blessed with leadership skills, Dr. Hailstock is a much sought-after educator and lecturer, sharing his knowledge and training in many forums beyond New Day, including as a moderator of the Tyger Hill Baptist Association, as a teacher in the Tyger River Congress of Christian Education and the South Carolina Congress of Christian Education, and as a preacher in the State Congress, the State Woman's Convention, and the National Congress of Christian Education (USA, Inc.), among others, and currently is a cochair of the Spartanburg Interfaith Ministerial Alliance and Spartanburg Clergy Initiative; and Whereas, Dr. Hailstock and his beloved wife, Reverend Audrey V. Sweeney Hailstock, have together reared two fine children, Alex and Jessica. The first lady of New Day, Audrey Hailstock is a woman of God who loves to spread the good news of the Gospel while helping people move forward and into their God-given purpose; and Whereas, she serves the Lord at New Day Baptist Church as advisor of the Voices of Praise, a Sunday school teacher for the Women's Class, a youth Bible study teacher, a praise and worship leader, and the directress for the New Day Children's Choir; and Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives commends New Day Baptist Church in Spartanburg for more than two decades of ministry in and service to the community and extends warmest congratulations on the occasion of the church's anniversary, along with wishes for many years of continued ministry in Spartanburg. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, celebrate the occasion of the twenty-first anniversary of New Day Baptist Church and congratulate and honor Reverend Dr. James L. Hailstock and the congregation for their dedicated service to the Spartanburg community. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Reverend Dr. James L.
