99 A house RESOLUTION to congratulate Charlene Sansbury Williams of Darlington County on the occasion of her one hundred first birthday, and to wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many years of continued health and happiness. Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are delighted to learn that Mrs. Charlene Sansbury Williams will celebrate her one hundred first birthday surrounded by her loving family and friends on Tuesday, May 6, 2025; and Whereas, born on May 6, 1924, in Darlington County, Mrs. Williams has witnessed more than a century of remarkable social changes, incredible technological advancements, and world-shaping events that have spanned the globe from that time into the second decade of the twenty-first century; and Whereas, the beloved daughter of the late Roland Sansbury and Ethel Moses, Mrs. Williams was raised in Darlington County and educated in the local public schools. She and her sister, Janie Mae Bruce, are the last surviving members of a family of nine siblings; and Whereas, she shared a devoted marriage with the late Leverne Williams Sr., with whom she lovingly raised eight children, Charles Williams, Reather Jackson, Henry Jay Williams, Annette Flynn, the late Leverne Williams Jr., Amanda Williams, Alphonso Williams, and Bernard Williams. They were blessed with sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and Whereas, a lifelong member of Lawson Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Williams faithfully served on the Missionary Committee. She was also a member of the Snowhill Baptist Church Eastern Stars. Her working years were spent in both domestic and agricultural labor, reflecting her strength, dedication, and work ethic; and Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is proud to honor this treasured citizen of the Palmetto State, recognizing her life of faith, service, and family, and joins in celebrating the remarkable milestone of her one hundred first birthday. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution congratulate Charlene Sansbury Williams of Darlington County, on the occasion of her one hundred first birthday, and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many years of continued health and happiness. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Charlene Sansbury Williams. ----XX----
