A house RESOLUTION   TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE W.R. "cODY" SIMPSON III OF CLARENDON COUNTY ON HIS RECENT APPOINTMENT BY PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP AS STATE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR THE FARM SERVICE AGENCY OF SOUTH CAROLINA.   Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that W.R. "Cody" Simpson III, a Manning native and fifth-generation South Carolina farmer, has been appointed state executive director for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) in South Carolina; and   Whereas, Mr. Simpson, who, with his family, operates W.R. Simpson Farms LLC in Clarendon County, was appointed by President Donald J. Trump and will oversee the implementation of U.S. Department of Agriculture FSA programs across the Palmetto State, including disaster assistance, conservation efforts, and loan programs that support agricultural producers; and   Whereas, in preparation for his career, Cody Simpson earned his undergraduate degree at Francis Marion University and then a master's degree in business administration, thereby equipping himself with the knowledge to complement his practical experience in agriculture. He has pledged to work "tirelessly to support the needs of our state's farmers and foresters, strengthen our agribusiness industry, and ensure the prosperity of rural communities across South Carolina." As a fifth-generation South Carolina family farmer, he understands firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing our agricultural community; and   Whereas, committed to balancing development with conservation, Cody Simpson actively promotes sustainable agricultural practices as a member of the Richland County Farm Bureau. He also supports wetland conservation through Ducks Unlimited and collaborates with the Pee Dee Land Trust to safeguard natural habitats. As a member of the National Rifle Association, he engages in discussions on responsible land-use practices that uphold both Second Amendment rights and environmental preservation; and   Whereas, prior to his appointment as South Carolina FSA state executive director, he served as chief executive assistant and agriculture advisor to South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. Cody Simpson is also a member of the National Governors Association's Land Management, Agriculture, Wildlife, and Rural Communities Advisory Network, as well as the South Carolina Forest Recovery Task Force. He further serves as a major and aide-de-camp to Commander Major General Leon Lott in the South Carolina State Guard; and   Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in saluting Cody Simpson on the occasion of his appointment as state executive director for the FSA of our great State, and the members extend to this son of South Carolina best wishes for much continued success in all his future endeavors. Now, therefore,   Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:   That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor and congratulate W.R. "Cody" Simpson III of Clarendon County on his recent appointment by President Donald J. Trump as state executive director for the Farm Service Agency of South Carolina.   Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to W.R. "Cody" Simpson III. ----XX----

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor and congratulate W.R. "Cody" Simpson III of Clarendon County on his recent appointment by President Donald J. Trump as state executive director for the Farm Service Agency of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to W.R. "Cody" Simpson III.
