Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that King George, a rising blues musician, and Money Train will perform in Myrtle Beach at the South Carolina House of Blues on Sunday, May 25, 2025; and Whereas, as a young boy, King George was immersed in the rich musical heritage of the Mississippi Delta where he was born and reared. He is now based in Hopkins, South Carolina; and Whereas, with a passion for storytelling and a sound that resonates deep within the soul, King George has established himself as a formidable presence in the blues genre. Drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of soul and blues music, King George's style is a blend of heartfelt lyrics, captivating melodies, and a raw, authentic energy that enthralls audiences everywhere; and Whereas, his journey through the music industry has been nothing short of remarkable. Over the years, he has garnered numerous accolades that highlight his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. In 2025, he was honored with the Soul Music Awards for Best Male Artist and for Song of the Year, solidifying his status as a leading figure in contemporary blues. His earlier achievements include the Jackson Music Awards for Best Recording by a Single Artist in 2024 and being recognized as Male Artist of the Year at the AMG Southern Life Awards; and Whereas, King George's discography showcases his versatility as an artist.
