1919 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA: 4
2020 Section 1. That § 41-17-13.4 be AMENDED: 5
2121 41-17-13.4. Any South DakotaAn individual may obtain free admission to any 6
2222 state park or recreation area, provided the individual is a South Dakota resident who 7
2323 receives: 8
2424 (1) Received a veteran allotment for a total disability which that is deemed a service-9
2525 connected injury or has received; 10
2626 (2) Received the United States Veterans' Administration K Award; any resident who 11
2727 was 12
2828 (3) Was held as a prisoner of war; or any resident who has 13
2929 (4) Has served on active duty in the armed forces of the United States or and is 14
3030 classified by the Veterans Administration as totally disabled because of a service-15
3131 connected injury; 16
3232 (5) Has served as a member of the armed forces reserve or the national guard who 17
3333 and is classified by the Veterans Administration as totally disabled as a result 18
3434 because of a service-connected injury may obtain free admission to any South 19
3535 Dakota state park or recreation area, and any such person; 20
3636 (6) Is a retired or current member of the South Dakota National Guard; or 21
3737 (7) Is the spouse or dependent of a retired or current member of the South Dakota 22
3838 National Guard. 23
3939 Any individual referenced in subdivisions (1) to (7), inclusive, of this section may 24
4040 receive a fifty percent discount on any camping fee or associated electrical service fee 25
4141 established pursuant to § 41-17-1.1 or 41-17-14.1. 26 25.211.10 2 1084

4444 Any person individual who applies for and qualifies for free admission under the 1
4545 provisions subdivisions (1) to (5), inclusive, of this section shall must be issued a lifetime 2
4646 park entrance license by the Department of Game, Fish and Parks. 3
4747 Any individual who applies for and qualifies for free admission under subdivisions 4
4848 (6) or (7) of this section must be issued an annual park entrance license by the 5
4949 Department of Game, Fish and Parks. 6
5050 The Game, Fish and Parks Commission shall promulgate rules, pursuant to chapter 7
5151 1-26, establishing criteria and procedures for obtaining free admission and reduced fees 8
5252 pursuant to this section, and for the issuance of a lifetime park entrance license. 9
