11-ENTITLED An Act to require a report regarding refugee resettlement services.
12-BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
13-Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added to chapter 28-1:
14-Any resettlement agency that is authorized to do business in this state and provides
15-programs, services, or other resources in support of refugee resettlement in this state
16-shall, on or before October first of each year, provide a report to the Governor and the
17-Legislature setting forth the following for the preceding fiscal year:
18-(1) A detailed description of each program, service, or resource provided by the agency
19-in support of refugee resettlement;
20-(2) The number of resettled refugees who were provided with programs, services, or
21-other resources in each political subdivision; and
22-(3) Demographic information pertaining to the resettled refugees who were provided
23-with programs, services, or other resources, including:
24-(a) Age;
25-(b) Country of origin;
26-(c) Education; and
27-(d) Gender.
28-The report must also include the number of refugees that the entity anticipates will
29-arrive and receive resettlement services by or through the agency during the current fiscal
