| 13 | | - | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA: |

| 14 | | - | Section 1. That § 32-12A-20.2 be AMENDED: |
|---|
| 15 | | - | 32-12A-20.2. A designation that the licensee is a veteran must be indicated on a |
|---|
| 16 | | - | commercial driver license or a commercial learner's permit issued pursuant to this chapter |
|---|
| 17 | | - | if the licensee or permit holder: |
|---|
| 18 | | - | (1) Is a veteran as defined in § 33A-1-1; |
|---|
| 19 | | - | (2) Has requested the designation on the license or permit; and |
|---|
| 20 | | - | (3) Has provided proof of the veteran's military service and honorable discharge by |
|---|
| 21 | | - | submitting to the department: |
|---|
| 22 | | - | (a) A certificate signed by a county veterans service officer on a form prescribed |
|---|
| 23 | | - | by the Department of Veterans Affairs; |
|---|
