An Act to make an appropriation for a grant to assist in the construction and 1
equipping of a veteran’s skilled trade center. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA: 3
Section 1. There is appropriated $3,218,277 from the general fund, to the Department of 4
Veterans Affairs, for the purpose of awarding a grant to assist in the construction and 5
equipping of a veteran's skilled trade center, which is to be located near Hot Springs to provide 6
mental health support, post-traumatic stress disorder counseling, and job skills training to 7
veterans. 8
Section 2. The secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs shall approve vouchers and 9
the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act. 10
Section 3. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated by June 11
30, 2028, shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8. 12
Section 4. This Act is effective beginning June 28, 2025. 13
