12- WHEREAS, the Chester Lady Flyers volleyball program is recognized as a perennial
13-powerhouse, having previously won the state championship in 2015, and qualifying for the
14-state tournament for twelve consecutive years; and
15- WHEREAS, the Lady Flyers defeated the Castlewood Warriors in the opening round 3 -0;

17- WHEREAS, the Lady Flyers defeated the Burke Cougars in the semifinal round 3-1 to earn
18-a berth in the state championship match; and
19- WHEREAS, despite losing the first set to the Warner Monarchs, the Lady Flyers maintained
20-their focus and composure, battling back to win the state championship in a grueling five-set
21-contest; and
22- WHEREAS, the Lady Flyers ended the season with an impressive record of 32-2;
23- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State
24-of South Dakota, that the Chester Lady Flyers are the 2024 Class B State volleyball
