12		-	Roncalli’s middle school, South Dakota Secretary of Education Dr. Joseph Graves and Milken
13		-	Educator Awards Vice President Jennifer Fuller announced Dan Gallagher as having r eceived
14		-	the prestigious Milken Educator Award along with a check for twenty-five thousand dollars;
15		-	and
16		-	WHEREAS, Dan maintains high expectations for himself and his students to reach their
17		-	potential, whether inspiring curiosity through project -based learning, encouraging
18		-	selflessness through community service projects in Aberdeen, or teaching a service-oriented
19		-	mindset; and
20		-	WHEREAS, the Milken Educator Award inspires educators, students, and communities to
21		-	celebrate, elevate, and activate kindergarten through twelfth grade teachers and encourage
22		-	young, capable people to pursue teaching as a career; and
23		-	WHEREAS, educators receive this distinction for their creative approach to education,
24		-	service to their school and students, and long-range impact on the greater community; and
25		-	WHEREAS, Dan joins over three thousand educators who have been honored with the
26		-	Milken Educator award over the award's forty-year history as the nation's preeminent teacher
