A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Recognizing the Sturgis Scoopers as the 2025
Class A state boys wrestling champions.
WHEREAS, the Sturgis Scoopers boys wrestling team earned 198 total points in the state
tournament and earned the Class A dual championship for a second year in a row; and
WHEREAS, Scoopers Tyler Baldwin and Kelson Dirk won individual Class A state
championships at 113 and 190 pounds, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Scoopers' historic season, under the direction of head coach Mike Abell,
included an undefeated record in regular season duals and team tournaments, and impressive
performances and improvements through all weight classes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State
of South Dakota, that the Sturgis Scoopers are the 2025 Class A state boys wrestling
champions.
