11-A JOINT RESOLUTION, Proposing and submitting to the voters at the next general
12-election an amendment to the Constitution of the State of South Dakota,
13-requiring that a constitutional amendment receive an affirmative vote of sixty
14-percent of the votes cast before the measure i s enacted.
15-BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
16-Section 1. That at the next general election held in the state, the following amendment to
17-Article XXIII of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, as set forth in section 2 of this
18-Joint Resolution, which is hereby agreed to, be submitted to the electors of the state for
19-approval.
20-Section 2. That Article XXIII, § 3 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota,
21-be AMENDED:
22-§ 3. A constitutional amendment or revision must be submitted to the voters and
23-becomes a part of the Constitution only if approved by an affirmative vote of sixty percent
24-of the votes cast on the question. The Legislature may provide for the withdrawal of an
25-initiated amendment, by its sponsors, at any time prior to its submission to the voters. 25.309.14 2 HJR5003
