11-ENTITLED An Act to revise and repeal provisions related to the 911 emergency
12-surcharge and the 911 Coordination Board.
13-BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
14-Section 1. That § 34-45-4.4 be AMENDED:
15-34-45-4.4. Each governing body of a public safety answering point shall submit
16-an annual report to the board by March thirty-first of each year. The report must cover
17-the period of January first through December thirty-first immediately preceding the report
18-deadline and be available for public inspection. The annual report for each answering point
19-must include the following:
20-(1) Number of emergency service calls made for ambulance, fire, and law
21-enforcement;
22-(2) Total number of employees;
23-(3) Operational budget;
24-(4) Total amount of dollars received by the 911 emergency surcharge pursuant to
25-§ 34-45-4 from each jurisdiction in the system;
26-(5) Description of the geographic territory of the public safety answering point; and
27-(6) Hours of operation for the public safety answering point.
28-The Department of Public Safety may promulgate rules, pursuant to chapter 1-26,
29-to require additional information from a public safety answering point for the purposes of
30-the annual report.
31-Section 2. That 2024 Session Laws, chapter 144, § 4 be REPEALED. 25.247.10 2 37

18+BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA: 3
19+Section 1. That § 34-45-4.4 be AMENDED: 4
