| 14 | | - | Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added to chapter 9-38: |

| 15 | | - | The governing body of a first or second class municipality may by ordinance |
|---|
| 16 | | - | authorize a change in the use of land obtained pursuant to § 9-38-31. Any change in the |
|---|
| 17 | | - | use of land obtained pursuant to § 9-38-31 may only be authorized if the land is to be |
|---|
| 18 | | - | used for a public purpose. |
|---|
| 19 | | - | The governing body must give notice of the proposed ordinance by publishing the |
|---|
| 20 | | - | proposed ordinance in the municipality's official newspaper once a week for at least two |
|---|
| 21 | | - | successive weeks. The last publication of the notice must occur at least fourteen days |
