A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Recognizing and expressing gratitude to Mike 1
Pedersen for his decades -long commitment to celebrating the joy of 2
Christmas through music. 3
WHEREAS, the 2024 Christmas season marks the thirty -fifth year that Mike Pedersen has 4
invited all to join in singing Christmas carols as he plays his iconic pipe organ at the Nora 5
Christmas Store in the community of Nora, South Dakota; and 6
WHEREAS, Mike’s dedication to the spirit of Christmas and his sharing of the joy of the 7
holiday through music has become a cherished tradition for generations of South Dakotans 8
and visitors alike; and 9
WHEREAS, the novelty of Mike Pedersen and the Nora Christmas store has been featured 10
on national television programs, enabling others across the nation to experience this great 11
treasure; 12
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State 13
of South Dakota, that Mike Pedersen has made a positive difference in the lives of many South 14
Dakotans by spreading the Christmas spirit and bringing the joy of holiday music to thousands 15
of people. 16
