A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Honoring Terry Ree, for his service to the state 1 of South Dakota as an entertainer through the comedy -musical duo Williams 2 and Ree. 3 WHEREAS, Terry Ree was born in Huron, raised in Pierre, and was a member of the Crow 4 Creek Sioux Tribe; and 5 WHEREAS, Terry attended Black Hills State College, where he teamed up with fellow 6 student Bruce Williams to form the comedy-musical duo Williams and Ree; and 7 WHEREAS, Terry, with Bruce Williams, brought laughter to an international audience 8 through live performances and television programming over the comedy duo’s career of more 9 than fifty-five years; and 10 WHEREAS, Terry, as part of Williams and Ree, created the film, Williams and Ree: The 11 Movie, which highlighted the excitement of an Interstate 90 road trip through South Dakota; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, Terry Ree used humor to bridge cultures in South Dakota and beyond; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State 15 of South Dakota, that Terry Ree has made a positive difference in the lives of many South 16 Dakotans through his exemplary work as an entertainer through the comedy -musical duo 17 Williams and Ree. 18
