| 16 | 15 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
| 17 | 16 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 38-8-106, is amended by deleting | |
| 18 | 17 | subdivision (8) and substituting: | |
| 19 | 18 | (8) Have a good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation | |
| 20 | 19 | conducted by the employing agency. If the person has prior law enforcement | |
| 21 | 20 | experience, then the employing agency shall contact any prior law enforcement agency | |
| 22 | 21 | that employed the person as part of the thorough investigation; and | |
| 23 | 22 | SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
