| 17 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 18 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 42, Chapter 4, is amended by adding |
|---|
| 19 | 18 | | the following new section: |
|---|
| 20 | 19 | | (a) As used in this section: |
|---|
| 21 | 20 | | (1) "Airport" means an international airport operated by the authority that |
|---|
| 22 | 21 | | is operational on the effective date of this act; and |
|---|
| 23 | 22 | | (2) "Authority" means a metropolitan airport authority created under this |
|---|
| 24 | 23 | | chapter in a county having a metropolitan form of government with a population |
|---|
| 25 | 24 | | of more than five hundred thousand (500,000), according to the 2020 federal |
|---|
| 26 | 25 | | census or a subsequent federal census. |
|---|
| 27 | 26 | | (b) The airport operated by the authority is hereby designated the "Trump |
|---|
| 28 | 27 | | International Airport." The authority is directed to erect suitable signs or affix suitable |
|---|
| 29 | 28 | | markers designating the airport as the "Trump International Airport" and to take other |
|---|
| 30 | 29 | | appropriate actions to recognize this designation in accordance with this section. |

| 31 | 30 | | (c) |
|---|
| 32 | 31 | | (1) For purposes of facilitating the change of the name of an airport |
|---|
| 33 | 32 | | identified under subsection (b), the authority shall, as soon as practicable: |
|---|
| 34 | 33 | | (A) If the authority has one (1) or more registered trademarks with |
|---|
| 35 | 34 | | the United States patent and trademark office (USPTO) for purposes of |
|---|
| 36 | 35 | | operating the airport: |
|---|

| 41 | 40 | | (i) Petition the USPTO to amend each trademarked name |
|---|
| 42 | 41 | | relating to the airport to "Trump International Airport"; or |
|---|
| 43 | 42 | | (ii) File a statement with the USPTO surrendering or |
|---|
| 44 | 43 | | abandoning each trademarked name and subsequently apply to |
|---|
| 45 | 44 | | trademark each name relating to the airport as "Trump |
|---|
| 46 | 45 | | International Airport"; |
|---|
| 47 | 46 | | (B) Upon changing each name of the airport in accordance with |
|---|
| 48 | 47 | | subdivision (c)(1)(A): |
|---|
| 49 | 48 | | (i) Revise or amend the name of the airport consistent with |
|---|
| 50 | 49 | | subsection (b) in all contracts between the airport or the authority |
|---|
| 51 | 50 | | and third parties. If the parties to a contract cannot agree to |
|---|
| 52 | 51 | | revise or amend the contract in accordance with subsection (b), |
|---|
| 53 | 52 | | the authority or airport shall, upon renewal, termination, or |
|---|
| 54 | 53 | | cancellation of the contract, renew or enter into a new contract |
|---|
| 55 | 54 | | with references to the airport as "Trump International Airport" in |
|---|
| 56 | 55 | | accordance with subsection (b); |
|---|
| 57 | 56 | | (ii) Comply with subsection (b) upon execution of a new |
|---|
| 58 | 57 | | contract between the authority or the airport and a third party; |
|---|
| 59 | 58 | | (iii) Revise or amend each registered or trademarked |
|---|
| 60 | 59 | | name of the airport with all local, state, and federal departments |
|---|
| 61 | 60 | | and agencies in accordance with applicable local, state, and |
|---|
| 62 | 61 | | federal laws, rules, and regulations; and |
|---|
| 63 | 62 | | (iv) Revise its by-laws or governing documents consistent |
|---|
| 64 | 63 | | with subsection (b). |

| 69 | 68 | | (2) Notwithstanding subdivision (c)(1), the authority or airport may, during |
|---|
| 70 | 69 | | the transition period specified under subdivision (c)(1), conduct the business of |
|---|
| 71 | 70 | | operating the airport using any registered or trademarked name of the airport |
|---|
| 72 | 71 | | with the designation of "doing business as Trump International Airport" or "d/b/a |
|---|
| 73 | 72 | | Trump International Airport." |

| 74 | 73 | | SECTION 2. For purposes of amending by-laws or governing documents and carrying |
|---|
| 75 | 74 | | out administrative duties necessary to effectuate this act, this act takes effect upon becoming a |
|---|
| 76 | 75 | | law, the public welfare requiring it. For all other purposes, this act takes effect January 1, 2026, |
|---|
| 77 | 76 | | the public welfare requiring it. |
