1312 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 42,
1413 Chapter 3; Title 42, Chapter 4 and Title 55, relative
1514 to airports.

1716 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1817 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 42, Chapter 4, is amended by adding
1918 the following new section:
2019 (a) As used in this section:
2120 (1) "Airport" means an international airport operated by the authority that
2221 is operational on the effective date of this act; and
2322 (2) "Authority" means a metropolitan airport authority created under this
2423 chapter in a county having a metropolitan form of government with a population
2524 of more than five hundred thousand (500,000), according to the 2020 federal
2625 census or a subsequent federal census.
2726 (b) The airport operated by the authority is hereby designated the "Trump
2827 International Airport." The authority is directed to erect suitable signs or affix suitable
2928 markers designating the airport as the "Trump International Airport" and to take other
3029 appropriate actions to recognize this designation in accordance with this section.
3130 (c)
3231 (1) For purposes of facilitating the change of the name of an airport
3332 identified under subsection (b), the authority shall, as soon as practicable:
3433 (A) If the authority has one (1) or more registered trademarks with
3534 the United States patent and trademark office (USPTO) for purposes of
3635 operating the airport:

4140 (i) Petition the USPTO to amend each trademarked name
4241 relating to the airport to "Trump International Airport"; or
4342 (ii) File a statement with the USPTO surrendering or
4443 abandoning each trademarked name and subsequently apply to
4544 trademark each name relating to the airport as "Trump
4645 International Airport";
4746 (B) Upon changing each name of the airport in accordance with
4847 subdivision (c)(1)(A):
4948 (i) Revise or amend the name of the airport consistent with
5049 subsection (b) in all contracts between the airport or the authority
5150 and third parties. If the parties to a contract cannot agree to
5251 revise or amend the contract in accordance with subsection (b),
5352 the authority or airport shall, upon renewal, termination, or
5453 cancellation of the contract, renew or enter into a new contract
5554 with references to the airport as "Trump International Airport" in
5655 accordance with subsection (b);
5756 (ii) Comply with subsection (b) upon execution of a new
5857 contract between the authority or the airport and a third party;
5958 (iii) Revise or amend each registered or trademarked
6059 name of the airport with all local, state, and federal departments
6160 and agencies in accordance with applicable local, state, and
6261 federal laws, rules, and regulations; and
6362 (iv) Revise its by-laws or governing documents consistent
6463 with subsection (b).

6968 (2) Notwithstanding subdivision (c)(1), the authority or airport may, during
7069 the transition period specified under subdivision (c)(1), conduct the business of
7170 operating the airport using any registered or trademarked name of the airport
7271 with the designation of "doing business as Trump International Airport" or "d/b/a
7372 Trump International Airport."
7473 SECTION 2. For purposes of amending by-laws or governing documents and carrying
7574 out administrative duties necessary to effectuate this act, this act takes effect upon becoming a
7675 law, the public welfare requiring it. For all other purposes, this act takes effect January 1, 2026,
7776 the public welfare requiring it.
