| 17 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 18 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 8-7-202(b), is amended by deleting |

| 19 | 18 | | the following language: |
|---|
| 20 | 19 | | If any person fails to comply with this section, this expense account shall be |
|---|
| 21 | 20 | | disallowed and the same shall not be paid. |
|---|
| 22 | 21 | | and substituting instead: |
|---|
| 23 | 22 | | If a person fails to comply with this subsection (b), the expense account must not |
|---|
| 24 | 23 | | be paid, unless the assistant district attorney general or criminal investigator, |
|---|
| 25 | 24 | | within five (5) days of the end of the month, submits the expense account with an |
|---|
| 26 | 25 | | explanation for late submission. |
|---|
| 27 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This act takes effect June 30, 2025, the public welfare requiring it. |
