| 17 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 18 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 69-9-226(a), is amended by deleting |
|---|
| 19 | 18 | | subdivisions (1) and (2) and substituting the following: |
|---|
| 20 | 19 | | (1) Has successfully completed a National Association of State Boating Law |
|---|
| 21 | 20 | | Administrators (NASBLA) approved boating safety examination that is approved by the |
|---|
| 22 | 21 | | agency; and |
|---|
| 23 | 22 | | (2) Has received a certificate from the agency as evidence of successful |
|---|
| 24 | 23 | | completion of an NASBLA approved boating safety examination that is approved by the |
|---|
| 25 | 24 | | agency; or |
|---|
| 26 | 25 | | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 69-9-226(c), is amended by deleting |
|---|
| 27 | 26 | | subdivision (4) and substituting the following: |
|---|
| 28 | 27 | | (4) Shall be issued for a fee set by the commission. The commission may also |
|---|
| 29 | 28 | | set a separate fee for the issuance of a replacement card. |
|---|
| 30 | 29 | | SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 69-9-226(d)(4)(A), is amended by |
|---|
| 31 | 30 | | deleting the word "monitored". |
|---|
| 32 | 31 | | SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
