1313 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4 and
1414 Title 68, Chapter 7, relative to the medical
1515 cannabis commission.

1717 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1818 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 68-7-103(a)(3), is amended by
1919 deleting the subdivision and substituting:
2020 (3) The governor shall appoint three (3) members, with one (1) appointed from
2121 each grand division and:
2222 (A) One (1) member who:
2323 (i) Is a patient who has been diagnosed with a qualifying medical
2424 disease or condition and who can establish the diagnosis for purposes of
2525 appointment to and service on the commission with a valid letter of
2626 attestation; or
2727 (ii) Is the caregiver of a patient described in subdivision
2828 (a)(3)(A)(i) or who was a caregiver for a patient as described in
2929 subdivision (a)(3)(A)(i) and the patient is now deceased;
3030 (B) One (1) member who is a subject matter expert with knowledge of
3131 how cannabis is cultivated, processed, shipped, distributed, or prescribed for
3232 medical use; and
3333 (C) One (1) member who meets the qualifications for appointment under
3434 subdivision (a)(3)(A) or (B).
3535 SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 68-7-109(d), is amended by deleting
3636 the language " The commission shall report its findings and recommendations to the general

4141 assembly relating to the medical use of cannabis in this state." and substituting "The
4242 commission shall report its findings and recommendations, including, but not limited to, policy
4343 recommendations, to the general assembly relating to the medical use of cannabis in this
4444 state.".
4545 SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
