| 13 | 13 | | AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4 and |

| 14 | 14 | | Title 68, Chapter 7, relative to the medical |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | cannabis commission. |

| 17 | 17 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 18 | 18 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 68-7-103(a)(3), is amended by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | deleting the subdivision and substituting: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (3) The governor shall appoint three (3) members, with one (1) appointed from |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | each grand division and: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (A) One (1) member who: |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (i) Is a patient who has been diagnosed with a qualifying medical |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | disease or condition and who can establish the diagnosis for purposes of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | appointment to and service on the commission with a valid letter of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | attestation; or |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (ii) Is the caregiver of a patient described in subdivision |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (a)(3)(A)(i) or who was a caregiver for a patient as described in |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | subdivision (a)(3)(A)(i) and the patient is now deceased; |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (B) One (1) member who is a subject matter expert with knowledge of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | how cannabis is cultivated, processed, shipped, distributed, or prescribed for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | medical use; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (C) One (1) member who meets the qualifications for appointment under |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | subdivision (a)(3)(A) or (B). |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 68-7-109(d), is amended by deleting |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | the language " The commission shall report its findings and recommendations to the general |
|---|

| 44 | 44 | | state.". |

| 45 | 45 | | SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
