| 17 | 17 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-13-106(e), is amended by | |
| 19 | 19 | deleting the language "§ 49-13-113(b)" and substituting instead the language "§ 49-13-113" and | |
| 20 | 20 | by adding the following as a new subdivision: | |
| 21 | 21 | (3) Subdivision (e)(1) does not allow a public charter school authorized in its | |
| 22 | 22 | charter agreement to locate in a county LEA to charge a student who resides in the | |
| 23 | 23 | county any registration fees, enrollment fees, or tuition if the student transfers to the | |
| 24 | 24 | public charter school from another LEA located in the same county. | |
| 25 | 25 | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-13-113(c)(3), is amended by | |
| 26 | 26 | adding the following language at the end of the subdivision: | |
| 27 | 27 | This subdivision (c)(3) does not allow a public charter school authorized in its | |
| 28 | 28 | charter agreement to locate in a county LEA to charge a student who resides in | |
| 29 | 29 | the county any registration fees, enrollment fees, or tuition if the student transfers | |
| 30 | 30 | to the public charter school from another LEA located in the same county. | |
| 31 | 31 | SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
