1312 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 5;
1413 Title 6; Title 7 and Title 67, relative to the Ola Mae
1514 Ransom Reintegration Act.

1716 WHEREAS, it is the goal of the General Assembly to assist our veterans in transitional
1817 efforts; we are proposing legislation that will give those veterans who are residents of this State
1918 the opportunity to receive business licenses for free; and
2019 WHEREAS, it is a fact that veterans receive various transferrable skills while in the
2120 military as well as other technical and academic certifications and accreditation, and it benefits
2221 the State and surrounding communities to support this legislation for economic and
2322 entrepreneurial development; now, therefore,
2423 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ST ATE OF TENNESSEE:
2524 SECTION 1. This act is known and may be cited as the "Ola Mae Ransom
2625 Reintegration Act."
2726 SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 67-4-723, is amended by adding the
2827 following as a new subsection:
2928 (f) Notwithstanding subsections (a) and (b), a fee for a business license must not
3029 be charged to any veteran of the United States military, including the national guard and
3130 reserves.
3231 SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
