16 | 16 | WHEREAS, the General Assembly seeks to exclude water softening systems from the | |
17 | 17 | definition of public water system; now, therefore, | |
18 | 18 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 68-221-703, is amended by deleting | |
20 | 20 | subdivision (19)(A)(i) and substituting: | |
21 | 21 | (i) Any collection, storage, or distribution facility, or a treatment facility, other | |
22 | 22 | than a treatment facility that treats solely for the purpose of softening hard water, under | |
23 | 23 | control of the operator of such system and used primarily in connection with such | |
24 | 24 | system; and | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. If any provision of this act or the application of any provision of this act to | |
26 | 26 | any person or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or | |
27 | 27 | applications of the act that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to | |
28 | 28 | that end, the provisions of this act are severable. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it. |
