| 18 | 18 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-13-104(4), is amended by | |
| 20 | 20 | deleting subdivision (B). | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-13-110(d), is amended by | |
| 22 | 22 | deleting the subsection and substituting: | |
| 23 | 23 | (d) The governing body of the public charter school may petition the authorizer | |
| 24 | 24 | to amend the original charter agreement. Beginning July 1, 2021, the commission shall | |
| 25 | 25 | determine the timelines for approval and the appeal process. If the authorizer is the | |
| 26 | 26 | commission, then an appeal shall not be made of the commission's decision to deny a | |
| 27 | 27 | petition to amend the charter agreement. The governing body of a public charter school | |
| 28 | 28 | may petition the authorizer for voluntary termination of the charter agreement before the | |
| 29 | 29 | charter agreement expires. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-13-142, is amended by deleting | |
| 31 | 31 | subsections (a)-(g) and (i). | |
| 32 | 32 | SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
