17 | 17 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 50-7-302(a), is amended by deleting | |
19 | 19 | the language "Personal Eligibility Conditions." and substituting: | |
20 | 20 | Personal Eligibility Conditions. Notwithstanding this subsection (a) to the contrary, | |
21 | 21 | upon declaration of an emergency pursuant to ยง 58-2-107, subdivisions (a)(3) and (4) | |
22 | 22 | are suspended to the extent necessary to allow the commissioner the discretion to | |
23 | 23 | amend such reporting requirements upon receiving appropriate federal guidance. Such | |
24 | 24 | a suspension is limited to residents of this state who reside or work in counties for which | |
25 | 25 | the state has requested a major disaster declaration. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 58-2-106(b), is amended by adding | |
27 | 27 | the following new subdivision: | |
28 | 28 | (20) Be vested with the authority to assist political subdivisions and local | |
29 | 29 | emergency management agencies with recovery from disasters and emergencies on | |
30 | 30 | public property. | |
31 | 31 | SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
