1313 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section
1414 50-7-302 and Section 58-2-106, relative to
1515 emergencies.

1717 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1818 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 50-7-302(a), is amended by
1919 designating the existing language as subdivision (a)(1) and adding the following as a new
2020 subdivision (a)(2):
2121 (2) Upon declaration of an emergency pursuant to ยง 58-2-107, the provisions of
2222 subdivisions (a)(1)(C)-(a)(1)(E) are suspended to the extent necessary to allow the
2323 commissioner the discretion to amend such reporting requirements upon receiving
2424 appropriate federal guidance. Such a suspension is limited to eligible claimants who
2525 reside or work in counties for which this state has requested a major disaster
2626 declaration.
2727 SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 58-2-106(b), is amended by adding
2828 the following as a new subdivision (b)(19) and redesignating the existing subdivision (b)(19)
2929 accordingly:
3030 (19) Have authority to assist a political subdivision or local emergency
3131 management agency with recovery from disasters and emergencies on public property
3232 at the request of the political subdivision or agency.
3333 SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
