1212 A RESOLUTION to honor Trooper Adam Cothron of the
1313 Tennessee Highway Patrol.

1515 WHEREAS, our nation was conceived by individuals who were willing to sacrifice their
1616 own concerns to ensure our collective freedom and personal safety; in providing for the
1717 domestic tranquility of the community as a whole, society recognizes the need for a system of
1818 laws; and
1919 WHEREAS, the enforcement of the law has been entrusted to a small number of
2020 dedicated individuals who face daily the rigors of human conflict in protecting those whom they
2121 so selflessly serve; and
2222 WHEREAS, the people of Tennessee are fortunate to be served by the brave and
2323 dedicated law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line while carrying out their
2424 essential duties; and
2525 WHEREAS, Trooper Adam Cothron of the Tennessee Highway Patrol is one such
2626 outstanding and heroic public servant, who was injured while serving his fellow citizens on July
2727 19, 2024; and
2828 WHEREAS, prior to joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Trooper Cothron served the
2929 Trousdale County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff; he comes from a respected law
3030 enforcement family and is a certified K9 handler; and
3131 WHEREAS, in addition to his devotion to serving his fellow citizens, Trooper Cothron is
3232 most proud of his role as a father and husband; and
3333 WHEREAS, Trooper Cothron exhibits integrity, probity, and valor in his public life as a
3434 law enforcement officer, compassion and loyalty in private life, and dedication in all his chosen
3535 endeavors; and

4040 WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should recognize and commend this exceptional public
4141 servant and human being; now, therefore,
4242 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
4343 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
4444 CONCURRING, that we honor Trooper Adam Cothron of the Tennessee Highway Patrol,
4545 reflecting fondly upon his impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to public service.
4646 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
4747 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
4848 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
4949 without House or Senate designation.
