15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, our nation was conceived by individuals who were willing to sacrifice their |

16 | 16 | | own concerns to ensure our collective freedom and personal safety; in providing for the |
---|
17 | 17 | | domestic tranquility of the community as a whole, society recognizes the need for a system of |
---|
18 | 18 | | laws; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, the enforcement of the law has been entrusted to a small number of |
---|
20 | 20 | | dedicated individuals who face daily the rigors of human conflict in protecting those whom they |
---|
21 | 21 | | so selflessly serve; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, the people of Tennessee are fortunate to be served by the brave and |
---|
23 | 23 | | dedicated law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line while carrying out their |
---|
24 | 24 | | essential duties; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Adam Cothron of the Tennessee Highway Patrol is one such |
---|
26 | 26 | | outstanding and heroic public servant, who was injured while serving his fellow citizens on July |
---|
27 | 27 | | 19, 2024; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, prior to joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Trooper Cothron served the |
---|
29 | 29 | | Trousdale County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff; he comes from a respected law |
---|
30 | 30 | | enforcement family and is a certified K9 handler; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, in addition to his devotion to serving his fellow citizens, Trooper Cothron is |
---|
32 | 32 | | most proud of his role as a father and husband; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Cothron exhibits integrity, probity, and valor in his public life as a |
---|
34 | 34 | | law enforcement officer, compassion and loyalty in private life, and dedication in all his chosen |
