12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor Trooper Adam Cothron of the
13	13	Tennessee Highway Patrol.

15	15	WHEREAS, our nation was conceived by individuals who were willing to sacrifice their
16	16	own concerns to ensure our collective freedom and personal safety; in providing for the
17	17	domestic tranquility of the community as a whole, society recognizes the need for a system of
18	18	laws; and
19	19	WHEREAS, the enforcement of the law has been entrusted to a small number of
20	20	dedicated individuals who face daily the rigors of human conflict in protecting those whom they
21	21	so selflessly serve; and
22	22	WHEREAS, the people of Tennessee are fortunate to be served by the brave and
23	23	dedicated law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line while carrying out their
24	24	essential duties; and
25	25	WHEREAS, Trooper Adam Cothron of the Tennessee Highway Patrol is one such
26	26	outstanding and heroic public servant, who was injured while serving his fellow citizens on July
27	27	19, 2024; and
28	28	WHEREAS, prior to joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Trooper Cothron served the
29	29	Trousdale County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff; he comes from a respected law
30	30	enforcement family and is a certified K9 handler; and
31	31	WHEREAS, in addition to his devotion to serving his fellow citizens, Trooper Cothron is
32	32	most proud of his role as a father and husband; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Trooper Cothron exhibits integrity, probity, and valor in his public life as a
34	34	law enforcement officer, compassion and loyalty in private life, and dedication in all his chosen
35	35	endeavors; and

40	40	WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should recognize and commend this exceptional public
41	41	servant and human being; now, therefore,
42	42	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
43	43	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
44	44	CONCURRING, that we honor Trooper Adam Cothron of the Tennessee Highway Patrol,
45	45	reflecting fondly upon his impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to public service.
46	46	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
47	47	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
48	48	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
49	49	without House or Senate designation.
